Blogs Are Sexy, Sometimes

i’ve been spending a lot of time tweaking over the little details of my blog layout, banner, buttons and on and on and am finally happy with the result! BUT, when i started out a couple of months ago, i went wandering the blogosphere to see what others do for ideas. the first thing i noticed was that there are SO many variations in styles of blogs, graphics, and even writing style and content.
i’m pretty easy to please, but i know my tastes are my own. so, in addition to getting some feedback from all of you, i’m going to take this as an opporunity to do a brain dump AND offer some love to my fellow bloggers out there that really do a great job with their blogs.
DESIGN
LOVE: simplicity, low clutter, symmetry, simple navigation.
HATE: overly flashy graphics, laborious page loads, scrolling for days, auto-play music or videos.
CONTENT and STYLE
LOVE: honesty, good discussions, thought provoking and engaging content. when opinions are flying, i’m a happy girl. clear, concise stylistic language.
HATE: too many memes. unforgivable typos (you know which ones i mean) *cringe*
PERSONALITY
though not a love/hate sort of characteristic of a blog, personality does play a big part in whether or not i enjoy a blog (and a blogger). when a blogger is genuine, their personality manages to shine through my computer screen and make me smile.
with so much variety, it’s easy to see that we all have our own personal tastes. so – what makes a blog sexy to you? are there any blogs that stand out in any particular category, or all around? share the love!

Well, thank you for taking the time to spell out what you like and hate about blogs. I’ve been working on mine a lot lately and this definitely helps me out.
