How I Prepared for the Readathon

April 10th, 2010 § 5 Comments

this post is for the Get the Heck Outta Here mini-challenge, hosted by The Literary Housewife.

  1. What steps did you take to ensure you’d be able to read as much as possible today?
    • books – naturally, we need to have a stack, so i spent a good amount of time prepping my pile. short, page-turners was the goal.
    • food – went grocery shopping yesterday to get quick, easy to grab and go type foods.  crackers, cheese, lunch meat.
    • coffee – i’m not normally a coffee drinker, but i got some lined up for today.
    • space – i dedicated the couch as my war zone and have had a pile of books on either side of me, a notepad, a netbook and food all within reach.
  2. Of those steps,  which proved to be the most beneficial to your day?
    • i think i honestly have to say that the dedicated space has been a blessing.  the couch has become my all-in-one home for the day.
  3. Is there anything you might do differently next time?
    • better food – i think i got too much snacky type stuff and i felt a stomach ache coming on at one point.
    • more coffee! - i only bought one bottle of iced coffee for the morning, but i’m feeling like i might need a boost to get through tonight… more coffee for next time, for sure.
