Review Policy
reading/reviewing habits
i do read: a variety of non-fiction, including memoirs, biographies, history, and social sciences. i also read quite a bit of literary fiction, classics, with some YA and sci-fi/fantasy, though these are currently secondary to my interests in non-fiction.
i do not read: romance, mystery/thriller, horror, self-help, religion, poetry. at this time, i am not reviewing any books in these genres.
on average, i read about ten books a month and i write a review for nearly every book read. all reviews get posted here, as well as some combination of: goodreads, LibraryThing, and Amazon.
authors/publishers
i am more than happy to receive your books, but keep in mind that if it is outside my favored genres, i will still write the review from my perspective, without fluff. i believe in writing honest, thoughtful reviews that include my personal responses to a book. feel free to browse recent reviews to get a feel for my review style and interests. i very rarely do not finish a book, but in the small chance that i do not finish your book, i will try to pass it onto a reader that will enjoy it.
review books receive priority in my reading and i can arrange review posting dates with you according to your needs. if no date is specified, i generally read and review books within three months of receipt.
book formats
i do accept books in any format, although i prefer to get books in print or kindle format (in that order). please keep in mind that i am in hawaii, so shipping rates may differ from within the continental U.S. and overseas.
